Welcome to Rusk County Airport (RFI). Located in central East Texas, Rusk County, with Henderson as its county seat, is rich in its heritage and progressive in its hopes for the future. Established in 1843 Rusk County was named in honor of Thomas J. Rusk, soldier, statesman and Texas patriot. Older than the state of Texas, Rusk County has a historical heritage abounding in folklore and adventure. Pirates, frontiersman, soldiers, cotton planters, Indians, dreamers and schemers played a role in the saga that is Rusk County history.
